grokking in fullness

September 22, 2003

I was with Bryan, William, Andy, Spinner, and Bloomer at Bloomer's house. We were standing on his front porch watching my house across the street. We felt a huge earthquake which tore the ground underneath my house in two.

Although my house was still intact, it was sitting astride the two sides of the hole, which was filled with lava. Soon the house caught on fire from the heat, and we all went over there and used a fire engine that was in my yard to try to save the house.

We kept the fire down, but we soon ran out of water because the house kept catching on fire from the intense heat below. We gave up, and let the house be destroyed.

I'm not really sure if I had this dream on the above date or not, because it was a long time ago and many of the details have faded. However, at the time, I considered this the best dream I can remember in my entire life. For this reason, I will do my best to share it with you.

Sheldon, or whatever town it was that I lived in, had been taken over and nearly destroyed by a dragon-like creature. People were killed, homes were destroyed, etc. Although this dream was set in "modern times," the entire town was built like one you'd see in the middle ages. There was a central castle, and a large wall around the perimeter of the town.

Rather than stay and be enslaved/killed by the dragon and its hordes of minions (which were probably orcs), I decided to go on a quest to find the magic object that would defeat the dragon.

I packed my things, and embarked with my sword, pith helmet, and a few friends.

Now thats the easy part, the next stuff is what I don't remember much.

From the dream, I remember that I became separated from the main group on the quest and had to battle my way through Nintendo-looking caves filled with evil creatures in order to find the next object for our quest. This happened to be some sort of hot air balloon. Remember Chip and Dale, Rescue Rangers? They had a flying machine with a hot air bag and wings that they used to fly from one place to another.

Anyway, I found this machine, as well as a one-person device that would allow its wearer to fly. I met up with the rest of the group, and we embarked to the frozen Antarctic to find the object that would kill the dragon. Although we stayed together for the most part through Antarctica, there were times I'd look on the map (which also resembled something you'd see on Super Mario Brothers), find an island or castle that we needed an item from, and flew to it by myself.

We ended up conquering whatever we found there, got the object, and then came back to town after our year long quest. I remember feeling disappointed when we did, because I didn't want the fun and adventure of our quest to cease.

But alas, the dragon was slain, and everyone lived happily ever after.
