I was watching on the news the aftermath of some sort of catastrophe. It was something like a dam break... or maybe an earthquake and resulting flood. Anyway, the TV news anchor (a woman) came on. Her voice in the background began explaining how one person had died.
I saw the view from an underwater camera going deeper into a house, and heard the reporter say something like "And his skull was caught in between some debris, making it unable for him to escape the rising flood waters." Suddenly the camera came to a pale looking corpse, which was lying on the floor with a painful expression on its face.
I imagined what it had been like to drown while trapped and unable to escape. As I thought of this, the corpse's bloated eyes slowly opened, revealing huge irises and pupils. I watched as the eyes slowly began to move around the flooded room with looks of agony. I wondered if he was still alive and could be saved, but realized these were only "nerves" making the corpse move.
The longer I watched, the more the corpse moved. Slowly thrashing its arms as if still trying to escape. The next scene showed the man's sister hugging his corpse underwater and crying and he still went through the motions of trying to escape. His eyes kept darting around wildly... but still in slow motion. As the corpse turned its head again, I saw that on the left side of the neck were two puncture holes, as if from a vampire.
Then I woke up.
