December 6, 2003 - Saturday | 11:56 AM, CST I'm back in the game! What game? The camera game. Last weekend, Gary came down and sold me his digital camera. As you recall, I left mine out in the rain for two days, and it ceased to function. So now I have a camera. Or more so... More so? Yes. I stopped by at Mom's to pick up my old junk camera, for use in spare parts and whatnot, plus the memory cards. Mother said "You know, I bet if you tried your camera now it would work." "Nonsense!" said I. If it didn't work two months after the rain incident, it surely isn't going to work now. But just to satisfy my curiousity, I tried it anyway. Sure enough, it works. So now I have two identical digital camera. One good thing about this situation (pointed out to me by either Kelly or Andy) is that if I am at a large party or event, I can give one of my cameras out to a friend for extra pictures.
So yes, pictures. I've taken a few pictures around my house, mostly from the other day when it was snowing and my windows looked out onto Norman Rockwell paintings. Here is a picture out my kitchen window. The view is almost as nice when the leaves are still up. I can't wait until the springtime. This is a view to the south, and this is a view from my backyard. I'm going to need to repaint my bedroom. Look closely at the wall behind the bed in this picture. You can see the nicotine stains on the walls that I couldn't scrub off. Look even harder and you can see where picture frames once hung.
Last weekend I held a feast at my house. You may have seen Jodie's comment on my last entry with an idea for some sort of Christmas feast. This is a direct infringement upon my Thanksgiving feast idea. Very original of you, Jodie. prick But nevertheless it is good. Andy, Gary, and Koby all stayed at my house last weekend, and Kelly made all our holiday food. But as you can see, not all of my cooking facilities are up to par. As I mentioned, Kelly baked the turkey, and Andy carved the beast. Fun was had by all.
I've been lonely lately. I worked tens all last week, and with school and everything else, I've had little time for socializing. Meaning that I'm stuck all alone out here in the woods with only a few old copies of Playboy to keep me occupied. I used to go home almost every day to eat at Mom's, but now that I am no longer there the quality of their food is lacking.
Bryan: That possum sure was nice, mom. Yuck. I woke up at around five or six this morning to the sound of gunfire. Which isn't all that unusual with hunting season going on, plus, there is usually a fairly constant stream of gunfire coming from my neighbor's cabin. But when Kelly came and woke me up on my way to school and said there was a Blazer parked in my yard, I became suspicious. We went outside, and sure enough, there was a Blazer parked in my yard. It was unoccupied. I had an idea that it was the landlord's son, because he had mentioned coming out to hunt, but he had said he'd call me beforehand so as not to alarm me. I followed a pair of footprints out into my woods, and found him about fifty yards from my house perched on the hill with a shotgun. Crazy morning. |
