October 11, 2004 - Monday | 8:24 AM, CST My truck is fixed. Three cheers for Nathan for his knowledgable assistance in the dis-, re-, and trans-combobulation of my truck. It was a tough process, mostly having to do with hard to reach bolts, as well as several cubic feet of dirt caked to the bottom of the truck due to numerous trips down dirty roads. Now that my truck is fixed, its like an old friend as come back into my life. You know, buying that truck may have been the single most important event in my life. Saturday night, Koby had a party. After about an hour, Nathan decided to show me a trestle he had discovered. I gave him my portable cb for his use in his truck, and Kelly and I followed after him in my truck. Being in constant radio communication with someone in a different vehicle is almost as cool as having the man-lights on the top of my truck. Quite possibly, installing a cb in my truck may have well been the single most important event in my life. One thing that was also especially neat was parking the trucks somewhere, and going out to explore while taking along the portable cb. Kelly wouldn't want to get out, so she'd stay in my truck at the radio acting as a lookout. If she saw anything suspicious, she'd radio out to us. Very cool indeed. I have begun a campaign to convince everyone with a four wheel drive vehicle to purchase and install a cb. Even if its only a temporary installation with a magnetic base for use only during periods of helling. The following people have four wheel drive vehicles:
Myself Of those people, only myself, William, and Jason have cb's installed in their trucks. William's is poorly tuned and will only broadcast/transmit for a few blocks, and Jason's speaker doesn't work. Nathan claims to have a cb, and I have just given him a magnetic base, so he has yet to install it. The same situation is true for Koby. Zach's cb readiness is unknown. As far as I know, Sarah once had a handheld cb, but whether it is still in her possession is also unknown. So that at the very least leaves Bloomer, Annie, Bryan, and Gary with the responsibility of obtaining a cb. Whether through legal or... less than legal... means. But seriously, Nathan can vouch for me just how cool this is. It may very well be the single most important thing you ever do in your entire life. Speaking of Nathan, he has the possibility of several deals lined up which has me very excited! Yesterday he purchased a 1984 Ford F-150 with a 4.9 I6, four speed. But wait, there's more! Nathan was also recently driving around town, when a crazy guy approached him...
Crazy Guy: You need any parts for that Ford? But I might be getting a little ahead of myself here. Or maybe Nathan doesn't even want me speaking of his secret truck plans? Even so, I'm very excited for Nathan and his truck combobulation possibilities. This may be the single most important event in Nathan's life, it definately is for me! As you may or may not know, William and I had a bet going on who'd finish their truck first. I had to rebuild my transmission, he had to install new axles and other toys. He got his axles installed, but he couldn't steer the truck. I got my transmission installed, but couldn't start it without the aid of a screwdriver (I used a Craftsman straight edge). Being that I didn't officially declare my truck done at the end of the transmissioneering, and William did declare his done once it was steerable, it leaves to question who actually won the bet. Mine was finished first and drivable, but you couldn't start it. His was in tip top condition before mine so... What we ended up agreeing on was changing each others' oil on the same day, at the same time. It will make for an interesting photo op.
And now, reprinted with permission, is an email I received just the other day: Sender's name: Mark And then, just a couple of days later, I get this: Sender's name: Elena This just so cool. Mark, you are great. So this has sparked my curiousity. Are you someone who I really don't know who comes and reads my website? If so, please leave me a comment, or if you don't want to do that, email me and tell me a little about yourself! You know so much about me, its about time I learned a little something about you.
Yes, Kelly's brithday was Thursday! She is no longer a teenager. We spent the weekend together, with her staying the night at my house on both Friday and Saturday nights. That was nice, we had a great time. Suzanne, good job updating your website. No, we haven't had any good calls lately. I think the last one I was on was with you and your master the night we watched the movie. No wait, there was one after that, because I found a BRAND NEW pager and took it as my own. Minitor IV. We usually average two calls a week, one on Monday morning, and one on Friday morning. Or any time I am wearing either my navy blue EMT shirt, or my red tank top. But since I have a new toy, we probably won't get a call for two weeks. Thats how it works. Kelly and I tried stopping by your house yesterday, but you weren't home. She needs to talk to you about Melanie's wedding and I needed to talk to your master. I'll stop by tonight though. I really need to take a shower now and get to bed. Toodleloo. Jodie: Yes, do another scavenger hunt. The last one was a blast. But this time, pair me up with a teammate that has a cb in their vehicle. Organizing that scavenger hunt was probably the single most important event in your life. |
