December 12, 2004 - Sunday | 1:09 PM, CST Saturday afternoon brought a visit from Kristy and Aunt Kathy. We were all sitting around the living room talking with Mom when the phone rang. I looked at the caller ID... "Its my cell phone," I told the group. At first there was no answer, so I called back. It was Kelly. Apparantly I had left my cell phone in her car (unbeknownst to her). A shaken Kelly related to the room in very unladylike fashion (Kelly is a loud cell phone talker) that when she heard it ring "IT SCARED THE FUCK OUT OF ME! I ALMOST WRECKED." "Well, if you wrecked, at least you had a cell phone with you." Hahaha. We made plans to eat out that night, and wished each other a fond farewell. Later on, we gathered Art, Annie, and William with us and set off, Low Fuel Warning burning brightly, for Pedro's in Kentland. About at Effner, I felt the car kick and noticed a decrease in speed. "Shit." I switched on the turn signal and used my last bit of gas to pull into the asphalt plant. I called Koby and asked him to bring us out some gas. He arrived some time later, but had forgotten to bring any gas. He did, however, bring a gas can. William went with him to the gas station, and brought us back five wonderful gallons of fuel. We resumed our trek to Pedro's, and had a wonderful dinner.
I did check out Alfonzo's Grave the other night with Suzanne. It still glowed. I still believe I know which grave is doing the glowing. Whoever "Doesn't Matter" was, their report that the grave had been removed but the glow remained seems unfounded. We are sending out invitations, but if you either don't get one in time or we forgot to invite you, Kelly and I are having our annual Kwanzika (Kwanza + Hannukah) dinner on December 18th at the Sheldon Town Hall. We still start the dinner at 6:00 PM. You must RSVP either by calling me, or leaving me a message on my website. Everyone will be required to bring a dish, because this is a potluck dinner. And by dish I don't mean a candy bar. Let me know if you need directions, for those of you who read my website but have never met me - just in case you want to join in our activities... I would have liked to have held it a week or so later so that everyone from far off schools could join in the fun, but Kelly has to work all those weekends and it would be kinda mean to uninvite her from the party she planned. Oh, and I need some help from my Champaign friends. Amber I'm thinking of you. Anyway, the government has printed out these new Emergency Response guidebooks, and apparently the only pickup place for them for (read in important sounding voice) Homeland Security Region 12, is Champaign. Unfortunately the government didn't provide any shipment funds, so we have to go pick them up ourselves. So I figured that if someone who goes to U of I were to go pick them up... it would save me a trip and I would be very grateful. Let me know. |
