December 21, 2004 - Tuesday | 1:04 PM, CST There is very little surprise surrounding this Christmas season. Which in some way is nice - although I haven't decided yet if it somehow detracts from the Christmas spirit for me. On the one hand, I am glad I will be getting exactly what I want. And in return, I know that the persons I've bought gifts for will enjoy what I've purchased. Only Kelly has refused to tell me what she wants for Christmas. In some ways, I find this kind of aggravating, since it seems that little of what I've ever bought her has been of any use. I could be wrong, but very little of the jewelry, clothing, etc. that I've bought her gets used. And that is obviously very frustrating. Speaking of Kelly, she and I just got back from McDonalds. I was driving, and had just given the cashier his money. Kelly handed me some cash, then I turned and accepted my change from the cashier. I looked at him, and meaning to say this to Kelly, said "Thank you, dear." He looked at me strangely... "I mean Guy! Thanks Guy!" I corrected myself hurriedly. He rolled his eyes, and walked off. Presumably to get some of his friends to help him kick my ass. Last weekend, at Bryan's party, Stuey proposed to his girlfriend. She agreed, and I'm glad for them. My dinner party Saturday went well, I thought. But not nearly as many people showed up as did last year. It seems that some people would rather spend their time and money getting wasted, or avoid seeing their friends because "so and so might be there." To each his own, I guess. Anyway, I had fun. And thanks to everyone who helped out and brought something. I had some funny stories and anecdotes to tell, but unfortunately I've forgotten all of them. C'est la vie. |
