March 7, 2005 - Monday | 6:31 PM, CST Yes, so today is my birthday. After turning twenty-one, my interest in birthdays as a time of celebration and presents has waned considerably. And now that I'm twenty-three, my morbid thoughts have me feeling old beyond my years. Perhaps I just need to have a change of pace in life... develop new hobbies and interests. On the plus side though, Zach is coming home very soon. Mom is fixing me one of my favorite dishes tonight - chicken stir-fry. I could eat that stuff for days, and hopefully she has made enough that I will. I have a busy day planned, and its almost seven o'clock at night. I'd better get my ass moving. I should probably find my checkbook (it was hidden in Kelly's car) and pay a stack of bills, but I should also do some grocery shopping. This time, however, I should probably remove the inflatable midget that has been riding in my rear hatch. There's nothing like accompanying the stockman out to your car with a cart full of grocery bags and suddenly remembering you have a blow-up doll sitting where your food should be stored. The last time I went grocery shopping I had to think fast and hurriedly tell him not to put the groceries in the rear hatch, but rather in the back seat. I mean, how do you explain that? "Nevermind that inflatable midget, just don't put anything heavy on top of her." "Uhhh.... yes sir..."
In other news, I have been appointed to the position of Secretary on the fire department. This involves giving financial reports at meetings, as well as some check writing for various funds and purchases. Taking minutes, keeping miscellaneous paperwork up to date. That sort of thing. I was ambivalent regarding the position at first, but now I believe it won't be so bad and I'm actually looking forward to seeing what all it entails. Gotta go. |
