Yeah, so, the other day I'm driving along in the truck on my way to Mom's house when I see this kid standing near the side of the road. He's at the intersection of Main and 5th looking expectantly at my truck as I approach. I notice that a bicycle and a skateboard are behind him in the grass, and a large rock is at his feet.

I wave as I drive past, and hear him shout "Help me!" I backed up my truck and pulled next to the kid. The following is our conversation:

Little Boy: Can you help me?

Me: What do you need?

Little Boy: Pointing to the large rock near his feet Can you take this home for me?

I look down at the rock. It appears to be a medium sized landsape rock about the size of a cat.

Me: Where is home?

Little Boy: Over there, a little bit. By those apartments. You know?

Me: Well maybe this is something that your parents should be helping you with... ?

Little Boy: My mom said that I could keep the neat rocks that I found, but I have to keep them in a safe place.

Me: I see. I think you should go ask your mom then, because I don't want to get in trouble for that.

Little Boy: Climbing back on top his bicycle Ok.

The next day I drove past and the rock was gone. So either the kid convinced someone to give the rock a ride home, or the lady whose garden he yanked it from found it and brought it back. Either way, c'est la vie!
