As some of you may have noticed, today is the five year anniversary of this journal. Although I have had alcade.net for over six years now, it was today that marks the birth of this particular website. Saturday night, I had a campout attended by Zach, Junior, and Spinner. Kelly surprised me with an anniversary Snickers cake to mark the occasion of my website's birthday. Here is a close-up of the Snickers cake, and here is Kelly cutting it into slices.

My first viewers were Zach and Nathan, and I usually wrote entries that I thought would be enjoyable or interesting to them (and to the select group of people that slowly grew over the months and years). As you remember, this got me into trouble when I worked for the Arc, and realized very abruptly that a lot more people read this page than what I had previously imagined.

Here's an interesting bit of trivia... What was the first name of my website? I changed it to Grokking in Fullness a few months after I read the book Stranger In A Strange Land. Can anyone remember what it was before that?

Anyway, we had a good time at the campout Saturday. We walked out to a pond at almost midnight and sat around watching the stars reflecting in the still water. Then we came home, Spinner left, and Zach, Kelly, and I went on a lantern walk out to the cemetery up the road from my house. I really need to do some more campouts while the warm weather lasts.
