August 10, 2005 - Wednesday | 6:32 PM, CST Andy has written a three part poem, as well as a short story. You should go and give them a read, they are worth it. Especially the poem, because it is a collection of Andy's ruminations of our exploits together. Very good reading, as I've said before. Speaking of good reading, you guys remember that road trip I took five years ago with Alex? Well, he has a website now and he's beginning to post his journal entries that he had written down in a notebook at the time. Go to the website, its interesting (for me at least) to read about the cool stuff I did five years ago. It doesn't seem that long, when I think about it, but then it also seems longer than that. You know what I mean? Anyway, I went to Suzanne's wedding over the weekend. We had a pretty good time, especially during the serving of the cake. I like cake, which is the main reason I come to receptions. Did I mention that this will be a short, choppy entry? It will. This whole marriage business is presenting me with a unique problem. If you notice for my people references, I use their first name, followed by an underscore, and then their last initial. Well quite a few of the girls on my list no longer have their original last initial! What to do? I helped Art move to the big city a little bit ago. Did I mention that before? It was hot and sticky, but I was glad to see where he lived. Our only real problem came when I had to rescue Art and his entourage from a wasp. Sometimes its tough being the only man in a group. What can you do? Art's apartment is nice, he even has access to an inground pool. Can't beat that in this heat, can ya? Bryan and I accompanied the Nageler's to Turkey Run this past Sunday. Normally we go kayaking, but everyone wanted to go tubing, and Bryan and I weren't too sure on that since we wanted to put some serious hiking in as well. Me being the forgetful person I am, I neglected to remember that I had placed my camera in the car for taking pictures of Suzanne's wedding (which I forgot to do), so I don't have any pictures of the rock formations or trees at the park. What a shame, but I had a good time nevertheless. I believe its been two years since we last went to Turkey Run with Nickler, which is two years too long. I always enjoy their outings (even though we didn't see much of them this time around!). Thats all for now, be sure to check out Andy's writings, they're in the junk drawer in the left-hand column. Nathan, what happened to your website? Oh, and Jodie wants to have a year-end party. E-mail her with your ideas, if you're not on the newslist. |
