grokking in fullness

January 26, 2010 - Wednesday | 12:44 PM, CST

Sorry about the long overdue update. I've actually had a nice recollection of my holiday planned, but that will have to wait for another day. I had a busy morning, to say the least.

I tried driving Kelly's car into town this morning, and it broke down about halfway between my house and the neighbor's. We've known for a little bit now that the rods are going bad, but today was their last day, I believe. The car started easily enough, but about a hundred yards down the road I heard a terrible knocking noise. The oil light came on and the car died, coasting to a stop. It resisted all efforts to restart.

I managed to push it off to the side of the road, but had to call Mom to come help steer while I pushed it the remaining two hundred yards to the house. Since my yard is up much higher than the road, Bryan had to come over and tow it from the side of the road back into the driveway.

We've been looking for a new car since we learned of the problems with the rods. I suppose now I finally have the impetus to begin my search in earnest. I'm thinking a four wheel drive vehicle. A Ford, naturally.

I do promise to post some holiday musings, among other things, very soon. In the meantime, please read my review of TheSurvivalistBlog.net. I'm positive most of you will enjoy the website. Check it out.
