A rose by any other name...
When I first began writing, the term "blog" was not yet in common use. According to Wikipedia, the word "blog" was first coined in 1999, but at the time all the cool kids (at least the ones I associated with) called their online musings "journals." So, while the word blog was indeed invented when this website was formed, it was not yet in common use at the time and as such this site will remain a "journal" and not a "blog."
Perhaps I am simply being a curmudgeon.
