grokking in fullness

Well, I hadn't written any essays or commentaries for a while, but today I read something so utterly vile and horrible that I could not remain silent.

As I was browsing through some online news at www.msn.com, I saw an article that piqued my interest: "A Terrorist Attack on Your Privacy." Well, as a free speech advocate I knew this was something I had to read. As it turns out my fears were again realized. With the reinterpretation and creation of new laws made to combat "terrorism" we the people of this country are being spied upon, repressed, and over all else, robbed of our constitutional rights as Americans. Yes, robbed of our constitutional rights. These new laws and enforcement procedures set fire to and piss on the ashes of the 4th and 5th Amendments which defend the rights of the people against unreasonable searches and self incrimination. The horrible part is that most people aren't even aware of, or full support these new changes.

Ever read George Orwell's 1984? If not I suggest it very soon, before your rights to read are taken away to the all consuming fascist deity that is our American government finally crushes us under its spit-polished, hard-soled boot. It seems that America is the land of the free no longer; so get up and fight back before it's too late!
